This 15-mile race quickly rises above the dramatic cliffs in one of Oregon’s most scenic state parks. With over 3,000 vertical gain, the route ascends to the top of Gray Butte with panoramic views of central Oregon and the Three Sisters. Then your reward, an almost uninterrupted descent with spectacular views of the sheer rock faces that make Smith Rock State Park a mecca for climbers. This race is part of the Northwest Mountain Trail Series.

Start Time/Location: 8:00 am at Smith Rock State Park in Terrebonne, Oregon.
PLEASE NOTE: No transfers to other runners are permitted. Registration can be cancelled for a 50% refund prior to March 1, 2013. No refunds are permitted on or after March 1, 2013.

Packet Pick-up: You can pick up your race number at the Start/Finish line beginning at 6:00am.
Post-race Festivities: There will be a BBQ for all participants, families and volunteers. We hope you stay and enjoy the fun!
Awards/Prizes: The top 3 male/female finishers will receive very nice products from some of our sponsors. There will also be many random prizes that we will be giving to finishers.

The $5 parking pass is included in your registration fee if you carpool and will be given to you when you pick up your race packet. If you have friends/family driving separately, please make sure they purchase a $5 parking pass at one of the fee stations in the Park.
Accommodations: Camping is available at Smith Rock State Park.
Multiple lodging options exist in Bend (30 minutes to start/finish), Redmond (15 minutes) and Madras (25 minutes).
COURSE
This 15-mile race quickly rises above the dramatic cliffs in one of Oregon’s most scenic state parks. With over 3,000 vertical gain, the route ascends to the top of Gray Butte with panoramic views of central Oregon and the Cascade peaks from Mt Hood in the north to Mt Bachelor to the south. Two-thirds of the course is on single- track trail. The other 1/3 is on rocky jeep roads.
